The City of Hamilton is an EEO & AAE. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.
The Neighborhood Development Administrator is a leadership role focused on the daily operational management of Hamilton’s 17STRONG Board and its initiatives as well as the direct supervision of the neighborhood engagement team. This position serves as an engine for community engagement, providing hands-on support for resident volunteers, neighborhood organizations, and other community stakeholders. The Administrator is responsible for the management of Neighborhood Coordinators and Engagement Specialists, ensuring that the team remains responsive and aligned with the city’s quality-of-life goals.
Operating under the general direction of the Executive Director of Neighborhood Services or the City Manager’s Designee, the Administrator exercises significant independent judgment and ingenuity to solve complex neighborhood issues. The work is deeply rooted in relationship-building, requiring the candidate to maintain close, cooperative ties with City officials and diverse community stakeholders, especially the 17STRONG Board and Committee members.
This is a highly responsible administrative and technical role that demands a proactive approach to project coordination and the ability to turn expected outcomes into actionable neighborhood improvements. Success in this role requires a candidate with an authentic passion for Hamilton and a deep commitment to the 17STRONG mission, which is to connect neighbors within neighborhoods, between neighborhoods, and between neighborhoods and the City and to build Pride, Identity, and a Sense of Place. Because the heart of this work occurs when residents are available, the Administrator must have a dedicated willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes frequent evenings and weekends. The position prioritizes "boots on the ground" leadership and the ability to support multiple, diverse neighborhood projects simultaneously.
